Bus Information

Registration for the next school year must be completed online annually by May 31st

Students riding on either of the two school buses that serve the school are to line up after school in the Kindergarten Courtyard in their grade level. Bus Buddies in upper grades are available to help Kindergarten and Grade 1 students  All students who take the bus must have registered with the school district Transportation Department. Bus registration forms are available from the school Office. Students who are accompanying a friend home and who do not regularly ride the bus must also be registered as a bus student or they cannot ride the bus.

Pick Up and Drop off of Students

Parents dropping off or picking up students must use the student drop off lane adjacent to the Bus Zone at the east side of the school or park on Donnay Drive. Parking is not allowed in the drop-off lane and pick-up, drop-off or parking is not permitted in the Staff parking lot with the exception of use of the handicapped parking.

Transportation Registration

Transportation services will open for the upcoming 2025/2026 school year May 1, 2025. Please read the following information carefully to ensure that you are registering your student correctly to secure ridership for the upcoming 2025/2026 school year.  

As per AP 560 “1.1.  A parent wishing for new or changed bus services for their student for the subsequent school year must apply annually by May 31.”

Parents may register their child using a home address and an alternate address providing the alternate is due to parental custody or elementary student daycare needs only. The Transportation Department will not offer busing to students going home with other students, attending after school events or other after school functions.


Registration Process

Current Students – NO Changes

  • Registration for the next school year must be completed online annually by May 31st.
  • If your information is the same as 2023/2024 (Address, contacts, and school), please use this form**. Confirmation of information can be done via MyRide K-12.

New Students – Registration

  • If you are new to the Cowichan Valley School District and have not been previously registered for SD79 Transportation services including all Kindergarten students, please use the online Registration Form.
  • We will no longer accept paper copy registrations; laptops are available at the Transportation Office during the regular school year 8:30am – 4:30pm. (Computer access is also available at your student’s school location).
    • Summer hours will be Monday, July 15th  through Friday, August 16th, Monday – Friday 9am – 1:00pm.

Change Form

  • If you have any informational changes at any time, please use a Change of Information form.
  • This form is for previously registered riders who have changes to the upcoming 2024/2025 year including change of school, contacts, or address.

Routing My Ride K-12

Please ensure your child(ren) is at the AM bus stop 5 minutes (10 minutes in September) prior to the time indicated as many circumstances (traffic, traffic lights, accidents, road closures, load sizes, etc.) will effect the bus times. Your child(ren)’s routing information can be accessed via:

Bus Passes

Replacement fee for lost and altered passes is $10.00. Payment can be made for replacement passes via e-transfer to buspasspayments@sd79.bc.ca or by credit card at 250-748-1066 ext 276 Replacement passes will be sent with your students afternoon driver.

NOTE: Purchasing a bus pass does not register your student. You much register first, please see above. Please do not send money if your student is not registered for the bus.
