Your PAC Executive team for 2026-2027
- Co Chair: Russel Vanderschaaf (he/him)

By day I’m an Engineering Technologist with the City of Duncan, by night and weekends a paid on-call firefighter with North Cowichan, and 24/7 a Dad of 3 kids that attend Ecole Mount Prevost 🙂 I joined the PAC because apparently I didn’t have enough on my plate already! On a serious note, I’m excited to help make this school year the best it can be and to work alongside the amazing group of parents who have all stepped up to be involved. - Co Chair: Traci Fossett

Traci joined PAC this year because as a graduate student she has more time and loves our school community. As a CUPE veteran of SD79 she understands school politics and is passionate about advocating for parents and offering opportunities for them to connect with their kids. Traci has two daughters Audrey in Grade 6 and Elena in Grade 10 at QSS. - Co Vice Chair: Alesia Newton

My kids Forest and Phoenix Reid have been attending Ecole Mt Prevost since kindergarten and are currently in grades 2 and 4. I joined the PAC to learn more about our school, contribute to making it an even better place for students, and help ensure that parents’ thoughts, concerns, and perspectives are heard when decisions are make that affect our children. - Co Vice Chair: Jenny Iwasyk

My son just started kindergarten, and my daughter will be starting at the school next year. I saw this as an opportunity to be involved and help the community that is École Mount Prevost continue to thrive and be the best place it can be for our children and the wonderful people helping them learn. - Treasurer : Travis Peterson (he/him)

Travis is proud to serve as Treasurer on the PAC. His day job is Director of Business Development at Ryan Company and his son is in grade 4 at Ecole Mount Prevost. Travis loves to play disc golf, and enjoys music and theatre. - Secretary: Denise Vanderlee

This is my 2nd year as EMP’s PAC secretary. I love it because I enjoy typing and making a difference in my kids’ school community. - Communications: Leona DeOliveira (she/her)

I’m excited to be part of our PAC and to help make our school a fun, welcoming, and memorable experience for our kids! I’ve been actively involved in fundraising, events, and supporting our school community, previously serving as Treasurer and now taking on the role of Communications. I believe that when parents come together, we can make a meaningful difference—creating fun opportunities for our kids while supporting our school, staff, and administration. - Co Fundraising:Emilie Cowley

I have two children in grades 6 and 3. I have been part of the EMP PAC in various roles over the last 7 years. I love being a part of our school community and being able to play a role in the fun things that we get to do for all the kids. Looking forward to a wonderful year to bring our school community closer. - Co Fundraising: Leah Satterfield (she/her)

I joined the PAC executive this year because I want to be involved in helping create the best experiences and opportunities for our children during their elementary education. A little about me: I am a Kindergarten Teacher turned stay-at-home Mom, with two out of my three children attending EMP. This year, I am sharing the position of Fundraising—I’m so excited to connect with everyone and have a great school year! - DPAC Rep: Todd Rosie

Todd is a new member to PAC. His son just started kindergarten at EMP. He works in HR for the BC Government but also has a degree in teaching at the elementary level. He is a big fan of film, theatre, and literature and he doodles in his spare time.
